Innovation occurs in the most unlikely places; on the back of a napkin in a busy restaurant, in the basement or garage of an inventor, in the back room of government facilities or on a plane ride at 30,000 feet Dozens of industry partners, professional associations and individuals have been trying to help the USG find innovation and some good outlets for doing so have emerged. Yet overall, the limiting factor for each of these initiatives comes down to one question: “how inclusive and effective is your network?” So how should the government find the inventions, technology and innovations that it is looking for? Finders are the links between the users and providers, the innovators and implementers. Most ‘finders’ are confined to an area they know best, whether by technology (like cyber security) or to a specific community (like academia) The FINND provides the forum and incentive for the 'finders' to share in a larger network and work together across multiple technology areas and communities, to the benefit of our national security enterprise |
